Maui Masters Swim Club sponsors this 1.2 mile fun-fin-fun swim. The 2007 thru 2010 results can be found on our MDSC Results page. As co-sponsors with other swims, their Polar Bear 2010 entry form is put here for convenience. There are also 2010 one-day USMS & 2010 one-day USA-S registration form available at the 'Aumakua swim website.
2010 Entry Form (Open, Fill out neatly on your computer, print, sign, send in or bring to race). $15 postmarked by 3/23; $20 after. Includes buffet continental breakfast. Valley Isle Masters and South Maui Sharks (USA-S) put on this swim ... this year the proceeds benefit South Maui Sharks and a fundraising attempt to help send some of their swimmers to Western Zones (Wow!!) being held on Oahu Aug 4-9 this summer. This event had to be cancelled due to short support & officiating staff that weekend ... many are out of town or at an invitational swim meet on Oahu. This new ocean swim was to be a Relay from Keawekapu to Polo Beach (approx 2.4 miles). Masters Only Entry Form. Long time Maui Swimmer Mike Sherrill is the architect of this race, Maui Dolphins will be providing support, and the net proceeds from this swim will benefit 50/50 MDSC and Hawaiian Lifeguard Association - Maui Chapter (benefits the Summer Lifeguard program put on by Maui County Aquatics Division, Ocean Safety section). (Note the USA-S sanction for this event was not accepted due to a conflict with a Hawaiian Swimming sanctioned Invitational scheduled June 13-14 per Hawaiian Swimming Rules and Regulations. The USMS sanction is still good and active.)
Maui Dolphins co-sponsors the 2.4 Mile 'Aumakua Swim and "Sprint" Mile on Labor Day, September 7th, 2009 at Malu'aka Beach in Makena Maui with Maui Masters Swim Club. There are also satellite views of the course, pictures and descriptions of the wildlife, and just a look at playful waters around Maui. Look forward to more local Age Group and International swimmers next year for our 5th annual swim. The 5th Annual Maui Summer Pentathlon, Saturday, August 29th, 2009 - Kihei Aquatic Center
The idea of a Pentathlon is to swim every event and add up the times. Warm-ups and warm-downs are kept separate between USMS and USA-S swimmers. The event is one to show swimming as a sport for life ... and for families that everyone can participate in. Age group entries are handled by the MAGSA age group chair with Team Manager - Teams send in their entries. The list of events is available for Team Manager, and on the last page of the Meet Notice. Masters entries are handled by filling out the linked 2009 form and sending to our club address. You can fill out the form on your computer, print it neatly, and send in with payment and a copy of your USMS card. Swimmers must be registered either with USMS or USA-Swimming to participate. Valley Isle Masters Swimmers sponsors this event benefitting South Maui Sharks Swim age group Swim Team. This is a "down the coast" straight line swim from Keawekapu to Polo beach ... along the same path as the Maui Coast Relays (see map above). Age Group and Masters entries are handled with this linked Entry Form. Swimmers must be registered with USMS or USA-S to participate.
In 2010, this race will move to Kahekili Beach (old Airport Beach) for start and finish to black rock and back. Maui Masters Swim Club sponsors this ~1 mile ocean race. 2007&8 Results can be found on our MDSC Results page.
